Prom Dresses in 2011

With prom 2010 now a distant memory, young females all over the globe eagerly ponder what styles & colors of prom dresses that 2011 will hold in store for them. Last season, they saw a myriad of vivid colors & a continuation of sassy animal prints. There was also an exploration in to even more abstract printed designs, often in bright pastels. Short cocktail dresses continued to gain popularity as well.

So what is around the corner for the prom dress? While some may argue, I am a believer that fashion is a reflection on society & the prevailing human condition. All of us know well the current economic climate & modern trend towards cleaner surroundings. This being said, I think they will see more dramatic changes in 2011 than they have seen in recent years.

Although it may sound a bit obvious, I think they will see more natural & earthy tones this coming year. & now for this cliché: white will certainly be the new black. Prints will continue to comprise a fair share of collections for their inherent imperfections. There will be a bigger choice of lighter & brighter colors.

As know-how & life progress, there so will be a progression in arithmetic. While innovation in colors is limited, there is no limit to progress in geometry. Therefore, they will see more movement in areas that permit it, such as the cut of the garment. Short dresses will most likely continue as a popular choice, but be looking out for fresh designs.
